Public transport and COVID-19. What can be done?
Public transport and COVID-19. What can be done?

One of the most important measures adopted by the governments of most Brazilian states and cities to contain the spread of the new coronavirus is the voluntary or mandatory horizontal social isolation of people. However, measures to limit the movement of people to contain the spread of COVID-19 cannot be confused with stopping public transport. For many to be able to comply with social isolation measures and stay at home, many others need to continue working and need public transport to reach their destinations.
Thus, the maintenance of transport services faces challenges not only now, but also after the relaxation of horizontal isolation. In view of this, FGV CERI prepared the document “Public transport and COVID-19. What can be done?." in order to outline some actions to be taken by each of the actors of public transport - users, operators and public authorities - during the crisis of the new coronavirus.
